The Best Holiday Meals in the British Virgin Islands

Plate of salmon and salad with text about British Virgin Islands holiday meals. With so many enticing dining options for a BVI Christmas vacation, the challenge is not in finding a restaurant, but in choosing one. Whether you seek gourmet fine-dining or prefer a casual island eatery, check out our top recommendations for BVI restaurants for the holidays:

Brandywine Estate Restaurant

For an upscale BVI Christmas dinner set in a garden estate with superb views over Sir Francis Drake Channel, head over to Brandywine Estate Restaurant on Tortola. Brandywine Estate meticulously crafts elegant dishes of Mediterranean bistro cuisine with special Christmas menu options. For special occasions like the holidays, Brandywine Estate usually provides a buffet as well.

The Sugar Mill Hotel

Another of Tortola’s premier fine-dining locations is The Sugar Mill Hotel’s restaurant, which has been converted from an old rum distillery. The Sugar Mill specializes in lobster dishes, but their prix fixe menu for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas will offer both traditional and seafood options.

Pirates Bight

Located on small, uninhabited Norman Island, which is famous for its pirate lore and is believed to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s book Treasure Island, you’ll find Pirates Bight, one of only two restaurants on the island. Pirates Bight is renowned for its laid-back beach atmosphere, delicious grilled menu, and refreshing tropical drinks, as well as for its popularity among island-hopping boaters.

Because Norman Island is so remote, ferries to the island are limited, so it is primarily a hub for sailors with their own boat or a charter sailboat. Check out Go Sail VI’s fleet of reliable and comfortable sailboats available for charter for a memorable BVI Christmas adventure!

Sugarcane Restaurant

Sugarcane Restaurant on Virgin Gorda is named after the original plantation on which it sits, connecting diners with the island’s history. Sugarcane serves a traditional meal, including turkey, ham, and stuffing, for lunch and dinner on Christmas Day.

Hendo’s Hideout

A fun, breezy spot on Jost Van Dyke, Hendo’s Hideout offers simple island fare, and their Christmas menu will feature their usual seafood options with some classic holiday choices as well.

Foxy’s Tamarind Bar

Party lovers in the Virgin Islands know that Foxy’s on Jost Van Dyke is the best location to dance the night away on Christmas Eve. Partygoers will be treated to the Caribbean’s hottest DJs and performers while sipping flowing drinks from the beach bar. And each year, attendees decorate a coconut palm tree with festive decorations. Finally, on Christmas Day, Foxy’s hosts a hearty holiday feast.
