But Cruising Couples will want to plan ahead so that they look back at their vacation in a positive light. Here’s everything you need to know about sailing with your spouse!

Do We Both Need to Know How to Sail?

Whether your spouse is an expert sailor or has never set foot on a deck, you can plan a sailing vacation as a couple with GSVI. ASA courses allow you and your loved one to spend a week on a live-aboard cruise learning tips and tricks from our expert captains and crew

What Are Our Sailing Options?diagram

You can join a group of Cruising Couples, travel with your spouse on one of our private yacht courses, or charter your own boat. However you choose to cruise, Go Sail VI can set you up with everything you need for your journey.

Do I Need Any Certifications

Nope! Sailing in the Virgin Islands doesn’t require any certifications. However, some of our sailing courses do help you earn an International Proficiency Certificate

Why Should I Sail With My Spouse?

So many reasons! First, you can really connect with each other and communicate while taking on a new challenge. Learning a hobby like sailing can become a shared hobby and even passion; plus, it’s a fun way to see the Virgin Islands.

It is also important to sail with a partner to stay safe on the open waters. What better First Mate than your other half?

Do We Get Any Downtime When Sailing?

Absolutely! Sailing can be hard work, so we make sure that our BVI and USVI itineraries leave plenty of time for you to see the Virgin Islands. You can expect to swim, snorkel, or just lay in the sun when traveling with Go Sail VI.

What Should Couples Plan to Bring?

Sailing with your spouse through GSVI courses means we can do most of the planning for you. We handle safety equipment, most meals, and teaching you how to sail.

We cover the basics. You can bring sunscreen, swimwear, and a bottle of champagne!

When Should We Sail?

The most popular time for cruising couples is from December to April. Sailing conditions are perfect for learning, and the weather is nice.

If you want to sail with your partner during shoulder season, schedule your trip for May or November.
