Go Sail Virgin Islands: The Only ASA Sailing School Recognized with Three Outstanding Instructors in 2024

The results of American Sailing’s 2024 ASA Outstanding Instructors of the Year award are in and while Go Sail instructors frequently make this list— this year was exceptional. Go Sail Virgin Islands was the only ASA school to have three instructors awarded!

American Sailing honored Captain Bob, Captain Jalil, and Captain Trevon as being in the top one percent of 2,500+ ASA instructors world-wide. These instructors aren’t just skilled sailors—they’re passionate educators who go above and beyond for every student, in every class, every single day.

To be the only sailing school represented by three instructors on this elite list is an incredible honor—and it speaks volumes about the quality of the instruction and dedication to student success here at Go Sail Virgin Islands.

“Competition for ASA Outstanding Instructor of the Year commendation is fierce. Very fine margins separate the top one percent of instructors from all others,” American Sailing wrote in “Bearings,” their instructor newsletter. “To become an Outstanding Instructor of the Year, focus on being an outstanding sailing instructor for every student in every class on every day that you teach, week in and week out.”

This recognition wouldn’t be possible without Go Sail Virgin Islands’ amazing students, who took the time to complete their ASA evaluations after sailing with us. The ASA Outstanding Instructors of the Year are selected based on feedback from student surveys submitted after course completion.
