When Women Go Sail

A Documentary About Women Sailors

When Women Go Sail follows the story of a crew of women coming together to take the helm of a sailing catamaran in the Caribbean Sea. Some arrive with racing experience, others with none at all. Yet in the open water, hierarchy softens and collaboration takes hold. As the crew navigate shifting winds and moments of vulnerability, they discover that leadership is not about control. It’s about trust and confidence. When Women Go Sail is a portrait of women claiming space, on deck and within themselves, showing how, together, they can redefine what it means to take the helm.

Director’s Statement

I’ve always been drawn to stories of women taking on roles people don’t traditionally expect to see them in and women proving capability not through dominance, but through collaboration. This film is not about proving that women can sail. It is about what happens when they do, and what happens when they do it together. It is about leadership that looks shared, courage that looks collective, and strength that grows through connection.
