Where to Stay in St. Thomas Before or After Your Sailing Vacation

Where to stay in St Thomas go sail VIYou’ve booked your sailing trip but what about your accommodations before you set sail? Here’s a few options of where you can stay in St. Thomas before or after a sailing trip with Go Sail Virgin Islands:

Short-term stays in St. Thomas

If you are looking for where to stay in St. Thomas for just a night or two, consider getting a hotel rather than a VRBO or Airbnb. This will save you on the cleaning fees that can quickly inflate the cost of a short stay. The top-rated hotels in St. Thomas on TripAdvisor are generally fairly reliable choices. However, if you’d prefer a B&B type of accommodation rather than a hotel, the Sapphire Beach Resort could be a great fit. Their units come with full kitchens, spacious living areas and private balconies.

Where to stay in St. Thomas near Compass Point Marina

Go Sail customers often ask where to stay in St. Thomas that’s close to the marina we set sail from. Two Sandals is a boutique hotel near Compass Point Marina and an ideal location for the night before or the night after your sailing trip. There is no minimum night stay requirement for bookings. This hotel also offers complimentary continental breakfast on their balcony between 7:30-9:00am so you can arrive at the Compass Point Marina for your sailing trip on a full belly!

Can I Book Somewhere to Stay in St. Thomas on Airbnb or VRBO?

Airbnb and VRBO are both reliable sites to book your stay in St. Thomas and we absolutely recommend taking a look at these sites if you plan on staying in St. Thomas for more than a few nights. The fees associated with booking on Airbnb or VRBO (like cleaning fees) generally don’t make it economical to book for just a night or two. Also, it’s worth keeping in mind that you might be able to get a better deal by booking directly on an accommodation’s website (if they have one) to avoid the fees of third-party sites all together.

Staying on Your Chartered Sailboat in St. Thomas

The day before you leave the Compass Point Marina, you’ll be invited aboard your sailboat to stay the night! Usually, your Go Sail captain will meet you at the marina, give you a tour of your sailboat, and then take you out to a local restaurant for a complimentary drink. After you’ve gotten to know the crew you’ll be sailing with— it’s back on the boat to unpack and get settled! Your suite will include a queen sized bed, linens, and a private bathroom. You’ll also have access to the boat’s shared kitchen and other communal living spaces! You can browse the photos of our sailboats by clicking on specific courses or charters on the Go Sail website.
